What are the CollegePlus Groups?
CollegePlus Groups consist of 15 students, 4 of whom serve as officers. Groups exist to encourage CollegePlus students to take challenges, find causes, and make an eternal difference in the world.Groups accomplish these ends by providing a structure in which students can compete and cooperate in putting their faith in Jesus Christ to work.
What do CollegePlus Groups do?
Members of a CollegePlus Group take part in challenges that fall into one of two categories:Ongoing Challenges. These challenges last all year and allow students to earn points for activities like passing tests and courses as well as for doing personal growth activities.Special Challenges. The months of March-November each feature one special challenge designed to stretch students and expose them to new experiences.
How do I join a CollegePlus Group?
Students not currently part of a CP Group can join a Group according to the following schedule:January March June September Ahead of each sign up date, an announcement with a link to the sign-up form will be posted in the "Announcements & News" forum on the CollegePlus Forums.
What is a RAK?
"RAK" is the abbreviation for the Random Acts of Kindness thread. Every monday Serena posts (usually in big colourful font to make it stick out) the random act of kindness for the week., usually divided into two activities: online and real life. Completing both of them, and posting that you completed them on the Random Acts of Kindness thread is worth 3 points. Beyond just getting the points, consider the blessing you will be to people.
What are PGPs?
There is no limit to the number of Personal Growth Projects a member can do, provided they are each approved by the Personal Growth Challenge Committee.
The Personal Growth Challenge Committee will review projects during the first week of every month March through September. Members should PM the PGP Committee CP Forums account with any questions about their submissions. Personal Growth Project proposals will be reviewed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once approved, members can begin working on their Personal Growth Projects

What are PGPs?
- Group members who wish to participate in the Personal Growth Challenge will choose at least one Personal Growth Project to complete by May 1 at the earliest or November 15 at the latest. Once approved, Personal Growth Projects (sometimes referred to as PGPs) can be started anytime between February 1 - August 31 2014.
- Personal Growth Projects can include things like training for and running a half or full marathon, learning to sew, a leadership project within your community, starting a non-profit organization, learning to cook a certain number of full course meals, learning a new language, learning a programming language - basically anything you have been dying to do, but never made time for! However, personal Growth projects must involve new work. Any prior work must be documented and progressed upon for the Personal Growth Project to be approved.
- For each Group, the President will appoint a volunteer member or an elected officer to serve on the inter-Group Personal Growth Challenge Committee.
- Members desiring to participate in the Personal Growth Challenge will submit a Personal Growth Project Proposal to the Personal Growth Challenge Committee for review, using this form. Proposals will use the following format:

- To earn credit, Group members must document their Personal Growth Project progress using a spreadsheet, pictures, video, essay, etc. Additionally, an accurate log must be kept of all time spent on the Personal Growth Project.
- Personal Growth Projects will fall under one of three possible categories:
- Level I: Interest (350 points) - The Personal Growth Project topic is overviewed, making the Group member informed on the chosen topic (50-100 hours February - November). Examples include reading 20 books, mastering a specific musical piece, learning to cook certain meals, hand-coding a small website, etc.
- Level II: Exploration (700 points) - The Personal Growth Project topic is explored, making the Group member competent with the chosen topic (100-150 hours February - November). Examples include training for/running a marathon or 1/2 marathon, other personal workout goals, writing a book, learning a new skill such as painting, sewing, shooting, etc., hand-coding a mid to large website, etc.
- Level III: Mastery (1,000 points) - The Personal Growth Project topic is exhaustively covered, making the Group member skilled with the chosen topic (150-200 hours February - November). Examples include learning a new language (reach a conversational level of proficiency), learning a new instrument, coding an app, starting a non-profit organization, etc.
